Hi, I'm Steve Bakewell. I have worked in businesses, advising them on their recruitment policies and processes for over 20 years. I have worked for and with some of the biggest organisations in the world along with hundreds of small and medium sized organisations.

During those years I have interviewed 1000's of candidates who are looking for work. A conservative estimate would be that I have been involved in the interview and selection of over 25,000 people - a number that I think gives me a fairly unique view into what recruiters want.

This web site is designed to help anyone struggling to get the job they want. You could be out of work, under threat of losing your job, bored and in need of a change or looking to improve your own quality of life by "upgrading" your career.

On this site and with my regular updates you will get information that will help you get that job you want. Much of the content may fall into the "I already know that" category...but in my experience, too many people ignore these basic and fundamental "rules of the game". 

In addition, I have included here many advanced techniques for securing the role you really want. Techniques that are used by headhunters, recruitment businesses and "career advisors" who charge a small fortune to help you find work are all included here.

The information here and on the regular updates is free...completely, no catch. I have wanted to get this information out for a very long time. There are 1000's of great candidates out there who are in the wrong job (or in no job) just because they don't know, or have forgotten, some simple principles.
